New clean-tech foundation to financially support the research, development and commercialization of emerging clean technology in Canada

January 11, 2017

TORONTO, ONT – The formation of the Enviro Innovate Clean-tech Foundation that utilizes the generous donations from donors and partners to advance and accelerate startups and established enterprises looking to design, invent, patent, develop and commercialize innovative clean technologies.

The Foundation, in collaboration with our coalition partners, including XPRIZE, Enviro Ambient Corporation, Queen’s University, E. I. DuPont Canada Company, GreenCentre Canada, Carbonomics LLC and Kingston Process Metallurgy, is able to draw on the experience and expertise of a multitude of relationships and resources to enable the Foundation to financially assist early-stage companies to design, invent, patent, develop and commercialize next-generation, globally-applicable, clean-tech products.

The Foundation’s focus is to financially support a range of clean-tech solutions including: recycling, renewable energy, green transportation, advanced materials, green chemistry, and water solutions. As importantly, this also includes energy efficiency and production technologies that result in lower GHG emissions.

“The vision for the Foundation is to generate donations from donors and partners that are then dedicated to resolve meaningful clean-tech problems through the research, development and commercialization of promising, innovative clean technologies”, says Tom Thompson, Chairman of the Enviro Innovate Clean-tech Foundation.  “The Foundation is able to access the deep strength of its global strategic alliances and partnerships to accomplish this, including the Foundation’s international network, and global clean-tech innovation ecosystem.”

The Foundation and its global clean-tech acceleration initiatives are supported by outside research grants, gifts and donations, as well as the Foundation’s strategic alliances and industry partnerships. These coalition partners include XPRIZE, Enviro Ambient Corporation, Queen’s University, E. I. DuPont Canada Company, GreenCentre Canada Carbonomics LLC and Kingston Process Metallurgy.
