MIKE AMOS | EIR
Mike is currently semi-retired with a portfolio of commercial and charitable activities:
– Owner of Fairfield Management Inc., focused on developing and operating high quality income properties in Prince Edward County (9 rental units)
– Advising growing software companies (Nudge Rewards, Smart Action LLP, RFG, VentureLab etc.)
– Volunteer adviser to MaRs Discover District, Canada’s largest technology accelerator
– Volunteer adviser to iCube (U of T accelerator)
– Volunteer member of the U of T College of Electors, responsible for appointing alumni governors and the Chancellor to the U of T Governing Council
Prior to retiring Mike was the Founder, Chairman and CEO, Empathica Inc. and over an 11-year period, he:
– Led the company from idea to exit
– Grew from 1 – 180 employees in three countries
– Established as global market leader in the Voice of the Customer software space with a number of large high profile customers (Starbucks, Exxon, Tesco, Shoppers Drug Mart, Canadian Tire, CitiBank etc.)
– Installed their product in 100,000+ retail locations across 52 countries and 26 languages
– Raised $15 million in private equity and debt
– Sold to a US competitor in 2013

Prior to Empathica, Mike held a number of roles:
– Senior Vice President, Brookfield Properties
– Director, Loblaw Companies
– Operations Manager, PepsiCo
– Analyst, Dun and Bradstreet
I cube, v lab and Mars are all past roles now- Mike served on the board of the Regent Theater in Picton for about 1 year ending in March 2019.
Mike graduated from U of T in 1991 with a degree in Commerce.
