Getting Started in Aquaculture & Aquaponics
A one-day workshop will be held at the North Grenville Community Centre on March 6, 2017. There will be a variety of presentations from government and industry, as well as all documentation.
• Part 1: Learn about the advantages of farmingaquatic species; global aquaculture output and future outlook; consumer trends in seafood consumption; aquaculture in Canada and Ontario
• Part 2: Production systems; aquaponics; water supply; egg and fingerling supply; nutrition and growth; fish health management; necessary permits and licenses; nutrientmanagement
• Part 3: Fish processing methods and requirements; market factors; product forms and pricing; distribution channels to major markets; economics; model farm design and next steps
• Part 4 : Industry Presentations
Lunch is included.
