Think Like Your Customer: Applying Human Centred Design to Your Business

Learn how to think like your customer by applying the principles of Human Centred Design with Executive Coach + Consultant Melanie Lang.

Wondering how you can think more like your own customer? Join us to learn how business owners can embrace Human Centred Design to avoid blind spots in their business, tap into their own creativity, and create solutions to problems without clearly defined structures.

In this 90-minute workshop, Executive Coach and Consultant Melanie Lang will teach us how to apply Human Centred Design principles to build stronger businesses.

By the end of this session you will:

* Understand the mindsets needed to master Human Centered Design

* Learn how to approach business challenges with the belief that all problems are solvable

* Be ready to apply your understanding of emotional intelligence and driving needs when working with your customers

Melanie Lang has nearly two decades experience in the innovation and entrepreneurship space. She was the founding Executive Director of the John F. Wood Centre for Business and Student Enterprise, led over 250 client projects through a business consulting training program and has sat on numerous NFP Boards. She’s an engaged business professional who has earned a reputation of being fiscally oriented and socially impactful.


The WE-CAN Project is led by Queen’s University and supported by the Government of Canada. Its mission is to inspire and empower existing and aspiring women entrepreneurs by providing them with tools, resources, expert mentors, networks and community building to expand existing businesses and to launch new ventures.

The Government of Canada, through FedDev Ontario’s Women Entrepreneurship Strategy (WES) Ecosystem Fund is providing $3.2 million for Queen’s University to design and deliver programs and services to accelerate, train, mentor and provide resources to women entrepreneurs and women-led companies in the community.

The focus of the WES strategy is to provide support to women entrepreneurs from diverse and underrepresented groups.
