The Canadian government encourages innovation with some very generous incentives for corporations. Yet it is estimated that many
businesses that could qualify do not apply for these benefits. Is your business one of the many missing out on government

One of the most significant forms of assistance is the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Investment Tax
Credit Program. During this session, MNP’s Terry Lavineway will introduce SR&ED and discuss some of the misconceptions around
what can and cannot be claimed, as well as some of the common pitfalls applicants should be mindful of.

About the Speaker

Terry is a member of MNP’s National SR&ED tax credit team. Located in Ottawa, he is focused on helping MNP clients with the
Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax credit claims and accessing other government assistance programs.

With more than two-and-a-half decades of experience,
Terry works with clients primarily in the technology space, including software, hardware, manufacturing, and game development. He
helps his clients reduce the cost of their operations through tax credits and government assistance, and takes pride in connecting
clients with other business contacts for their mutual business benefit.

Terry has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in computer science and a Bachelor of Administration (B.Admin.) from the University of
Regina.
