Building Inclusive Communities
April 6 @ 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm

St. Lawrence College, Kingston Immigration Partnership and the Kingston Economic Development Corporation have come together to highlight the benefits of an inclusive community and celebrate the entrepreneurship culture and innovation of newcomer entrepreneurs in our community.
The process of moving and settling in a new country is often challenging. While newcomers try to settle in new countries, they face multiple barriers to settling into new ways of life in Canada. Those who choose to start businesses experience even more challenges in their respective entrepreneurial journey. To recognize the contributions made by exceptional and visionary individuals in Kingston, the Kingston Economic Development Corporation is working with Kingston Immigration Partnership to establish the Kingston Newcomer Entrepreneurs Awards.
The awards aim to recognize newcomers who have arrived in Kingston in the past 10 years and chose to establish their business in Kingston.
Some of the notable contributions to economic development and growth by newcomer entrepreneurs include but are not limited to:
- Creation of new products and services
- Creating jobs for others
- Building businesses that value innovation
- Boosting demand for local consumer goods
- Increase Kingston’s economic prosperity
Panelists will be announced soon!
